Chocolate Mousse Pie

I used to call this recipe Marriage Proposal Chocolate Mousse Pie because it never failed to get a proposal. Most were for fun, but sometimes the proposal would be legit. That’s just how deliciously rich and over the top this pie is. You’ll love all the layers of chocolate.

OREO Cookie Crumb Crust:

  • 20 Oreo cookies
  • ½ cup melted butter (one stick)

In a food processor, process Oreo cookies until crumbs. Add melted butter and process until combined. Place crumbs and butter mixture in a 10-inch pie pan pressing firmly into the bottom and sides of the pan. Refrigerate and cool crust before adding filing.

Pie Filling:

  • ¾ cup milk
  • 2 ½ cups miniature marshmallows (1 small bag)
  • 8 oz Hershey Bar with almonds
  • 2 squares bitter chocolate
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa
  • 1 pint heavy whipping cream, whipped to stiff peak stage

In a heavy pot add milk, marshmallows, Hershey Bar (broken up) and bitter chocolate. Cook, stirring constantly until melted. Add cocoa, remove from heat, and cool completely. Meanwhile, whip cream to stiff peak stage and refrigerate. When chocolate mixture is cool add about ¾ of the whipped cream folding in gently being careful not to deflate the whipped cream.

Add chocolate filling to the cooled cookie crust. Decorate pie with the remaining whipped cream placing the cream around the outside edge of the pie. Chill pie at least 3-4 hours before serving. This pie can be made ahead and frozen.
